Linda Baugh, Founder and President of American Career Executives - Presentation: "The Hidden Job Market"
Career and job
search experts like Richard Bolles, author of What Color is Your Parachute,
report that only 4% of hiring occurs online; that most hiring occurs through
informal contacts, up to 70%. Bill Swartz, top executive recruiter in
Arizona admonishes professionals and executives in job search to “make a list
of 100 companies and find a way to meet the decision maker.”
Are Bolles and
Swartz alluding to the “Hidden Job Market”, those jobs that are not “posted”,
where no recruiter is involved, and even HR doesn’t know about the need?
Are they referring to those instances where a job is “created” for someone?
Answers to the
mysteries of the “Hidden Job Market” will be provided by Linda Baugh, former
Vice President of an executive search firm, and founder of American Career
Executives®. Linda has facilitated
the placement of more than 6500 professionals and executives in new career
opportunities since 1980.
