7th Annual Dan Devine Memorial Golf Tournament
 The Notre Dame Club of Phoenix, together with our underwriter the Native New Yorker Scottsdale, is pleased to sponsor the Seventh Annual Dan Devine Memorial Golf Tournament. This year’s Tournament will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Wigwam Golf Resort’s Blue Course in Litchfield Park.
 Post-Tournament festivities will include a fabulous dinner, awards ceremony, silent auction, and a special message from our keynote speaker Haley Scott DeMaria ’95. Haley is the Second Vice President of the Notre Dame Monogram Club, and is a former member of the Notre Dame Swim Team and, before college, the swim team at Xavier College Preparatory. She is the author of the book: What Though the Odds. And, as a Notre Dame athlete, Haley won several awards, both national and regional, for her recovery and return to swimming: the Spirit of Notre Dame Award, the Executive Journal Comeback of the Year Award (1993), The Honda Award for Inspiration (1993-94), The Gene Autry Courage in Sport Award (1994), among others. She was also named Woman of the Year at the National Women’s Leadership Conference in Washington DC (June 1994) and a Fellow at the Institute for International Sport in Rhode Island (June 1995).
Please join Haley Scott DeMaria, members of the Devine family, the Notre Dame Club of Phoenix, and several former Notre Dame players in enjoying an afternoon of golf and camaraderie. The Dan Devine Memorial Tournament has been one of the Club’s premier events of the past several years, and this year’s Tournament promises to be no different.
The deadline for discount registration at $175.00 is March 2, 2010. Final registration (at $200 per player) closes on March 12, 2010. Space is limited to the first 144 golfers to register. A limited number of registrations are available to individuals who are unable to golf but wish to enjoy dinner, Haley’s comments, and other post Tournament activities.
Tournament profits will be used to fund Club programming and academic scholarships for Notre Dame students who reside in the Notre Dame Club of Phoenix area (which comprises all of Arizona except Tucson). In just six short years, the Tournament has raised over $80,000 for deserving students. Several years ago, the Club’s board of directors established a separate scholarship endowment account with the University, specifically for the Dan Devine Memorial Scholarship Fund, to benefit students for generations to come.
